Jump in a 4x4 jeep from Reid’s Palace and we’ll take you up above the clouds to watch the sun rise from the 1,818-metre Pico do Arieiro, Madeira's third highest peak. The views are sure to take your breath away.

Looking for a tennis court in Madeira? Enjoy a unique experience at Reid’s Palace, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Our clifftop courts, surrounded by lush gardens, offer an inspiring location for play throughout the year, whether with friends or with your family.

In partnership with LUX Tennis, Reid’s Palace also provides bespoke private lessons with professional coaches, and younger guests can learn at leisure through our Kids Clinics. State-of-the-art tennis equipment is available on a complimentary basis for you to enjoy a game or two. Speak to our teams to make a court booking.

Take a thrilling boat ride across the waves to Madeira’s Desertas Islands, keeping a look out for dolphins and whales on the way. This small uninhabited archipelago is brimming with caverns and grottos to explore. You’ll also spot a family of rare Mediterranean monk seals, including Zarco our much-loved mascot.

Grandma Piedade’s Culinary Secrets

Meet Eugenia, our iconic ‘Grandma Piedade’ who holds a deep passion for Madeiran traditions. From her childhood, Eugenia followed her mother around the kitchen and learned how to prepare rich, nutritious family meals. Today, she kindly shares her recipes with guests of Reid’s Palace, highlighting the local produce and flavours of the island.

Please note that the experience lasts 5 to 6 hours and is available for a minimum of two guests. Book the activity at least two days in advance by speaking with our Front Desk team.
