This statement is not a formal and contractual commitment by Belmond, and the Plan may evolve over time. However, the accessibility engagement is well anchored in the short, medium and long terms objectives of the Maison.
Our Vision Digital accessibility is a key priority as part of Belmond and LVMH Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) roadmap. Our vision is to ensure that all digital products and services created by Belmond are accessible to all clients, colleagues, and users. To support this, we aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility, for us, goes beyond compliance. It means ensuring our digital products and services can be used easily by people of all abilities.
Strategic Roadmap of Activities As part of our organizational roadmap—co-created with cross-functional teams across the business—we are taking the following actions. These are either completed, ongoing, or planned: We’ve laid important foundations for future progress:
- Completed: A Digital Accessibility Representative has been appointed at Belmond to lead and advocate for change
- Ongoing: A cross-functional taskforce has been set up, bringing together key roles from legal, HR, procurement, and more
- Completed: Experts have been assigned to support development, design, product, QA, and content teams in implementing accessibility best practices
- Completed: We have identified a partner specialized in digital accessibility to support us on the topic, Level Access and LVMH Digital Accessibility Center
- Ongoing: C-level sponsors have been identified to champion the topic and provide strategic oversight
- Ongoing: Comprehensive compliance audits are being conducted across digital platforms
- Ongoing: Training and awareness initiatives have been launched, with sessions delivered to both internal and external stakeholders—including tailored sessions for specific roles
- Ongoing: Contracts and procurement processes are being updated to ensure accessibility is treated as a non-negotiable requirement with partners
- Ongoing: Accessibility by Design principles are being applied systematically in operational projects
- Planned: Regular qualitative user testing with people with disabilities using assistive technologies
Contribution to LVMH Digital Accessibility Community Since their nomination, our Belmond Digital Accessibility Representative has been an active member of the LVMH Digital Accessibility Community, a cross-Maison initiative designed to foster a culture of accessibility across the LVMH Group. It brings together representatives and ambassadors from each Maison, creating a network of champions committed to progress.
Digital Accessibility Evaluation Methods We use a range of methods to evaluate accessibility across our digital products and services:
- Automated tools to quickly find accessibility issues (since no tool can be fully exhaustive nor 100% accurate to this day)
- Manual audits conducted by accessibility professionals
- User testing involving people living with disabilities using assistive technologies
About the Accessibility of our Digital Services The accessibility of this website was evaluated using WCAG version 2.2 level AA. The audit was last conducted on March 2025, and identified non-compliance was communicated to relevant teams and added to the backlog for future improvements. We will resolve issues based on their severity level of impact on the experience of users with disabilities, as well as their level of complexity to resolve. We train our teams and ask that our partners apply an Accessibility by Design approach, where we aim to meet conformance with the WCAG 2.2 level AA. More broadly speaking, we work towards ensuring that our digital services:
- Present information in more than one way, such as using both sound and text, so it can be accessed and understood by all, regardless of their ability.
- Use clear and simple language to make information easy to understand.
- Present information in ways that people can easily perceive and use, based on their individual needs.
- Provide information in text form, so it can be converted into other formats (like audio or braille) and be read by assistive technologies.
- Use easy-to-read fonts, considering elements like font size and contrast of text on background.
- Include alternative formats for images or other non-text content that are meaningful, such as text descriptions or captions.
