Day 1-2: Balmoral Hotel

On arrival in Edinburgh you will be greeted and transferred to The Balmoral Hotel located in the heart of the city.

After settling into your hotel discover Scotland’s capital, boasting a vibrant cultural scene, dramatic past and stunning historic sights.

Enjoy a half-day walking tour around historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the Royal Mile, Grassmarket and some of the city’s hidden alleyways.



Day 3: Belmond Royal Scotsman

Leave Edinburgh in the early afternoon aboard the Belmond Royal Scotsman train and head west through Falkirk to Craigendoran, the starting point for the West Highland Line.

Enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea and catch a first glimpse of Loch Lomond. The train climbs up the waterfall-rich Glen Falloch, continuing north to Spean Bridge village for the night.

This evening sit down to a splendid informal dinner, and entertainment in the Observation Car.



Day 4: Belmond Royal Scotsman

The train continues west, passing through Fort William, the largest town in the West Highlands. Disembark at Arisaig, for a stroll along the Morar Sands, marvelling at the views of the Isle of Skye's Cuillin Mountains. Lunch is served on board.

Afterwards, our Highlander accompanies you to Glenfinnan Monument to explain the area's history before tea at Inverlochy Castle. Those who enjoy a brisk walk can head to the beautiful Steall Waterfall.

Return to the train and relax on board before an informal dinner. Enjoy a nightcap whilst listening to the evening entertainment in the Observation Car


Isle of Bute

Day 5: Belmond Royal Scotsman

Today's destination is the charming Isle of Bute. The island is rich in geology, history and wildlife, with a varied landscape. Enjoy a fascinating visit to Mount Stuart, a Victorian Gothic house with arguably the finest privately held collection of family portraits in Scotland.

Return to Wemyss Bay for a formal dinner and overnight on board.


Fort William

Day 6: Inverlochy Castle Hotel

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as the train makes its way back to Edinburgh. Disembark for your private transfer to Scotland's finest luxury hotel and restaurant, Inverlochy Castle Hotel, and settle in for a two-night stay.

Choose from the many activities Inverlochy Castle has on offer. With approximately 75,000 acres there are a wide range to choose from, including photography tours, hill walks, fishing and much more.



Day 7: Departure

After breakfast the train heads back to Edinburgh, where you disembark for your onward travel arrangements.
