Board the barge and meet your crew over a champagne reception before your journey begins.

Later on, enjoy evening cocktails as you cruise through the centre of Lyon. Dine on superb cuisine accompanied by the finest vintages.



Tour France's second city, Lyon, renowned for its culture and gastronomy. Admire the ornate Basilica of Nôtre-Dame de Fourvière, which dominates the skyline. Browse through the chic boutiques or relax in a sunny pavement café.

Return to the barge and enjoy time at leisure. Recline on the deck as you cruise the Rhône Valley to Condrieu.



Pass through the magnificent vineyards of the Côtes Rôties and the Côtes du Rhône, which almost reach the river’s edge. In the afternoon enjoy a tasting at a local winery.

Later on, disembark and explore the delights of Tain-l'Hermitage, which include the famous Valrhona chocolate shop. As evening descends, enjoy an exceptional dinner on board.



Cruise to Viviers and admire the beauty of the Rhône Valley from the deck. Disembark mid-afternoon for a guided walk around this charming medieval town.

Return to Belmond Alouette to play pétanque, the traditional Provençal game.



Take a scenic drive to Nyons, a typical Provençal village with a lavender distillery and 18th-century olive mill. There you'll savour a lunch at Grignan.

Visit a truffle farm to learn about and taste this world-renowned delicacy. Continue your cruise south to Saint-Etienne-des-Sorts. Pass through Bollène lock, with its dramatic 23-metre drop.



Cruise to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, home of the Popes of Avignon in the 1300s. Take a tour Château La Nerthe and taste the region’s wines.

Lunch is served aboard the barge as your cruise continues to Avignon, passing the famous Pont Saint-Bénezet. Explore this magnificent city taking in the Palace of the Popes and Nôtre Dame.

Back on board, share stories over a farewell gala dinner.
