History
Belmond Road to Mandalay began life on the Rhine river in Germany, before being transported to Myanmar and renovated into a grand cruiser. In 1996 Belmond launched the ship as the first luxury river cruiser in Myanmar. Twenty years on, its pioneering presence along the Ayeyarwady continues to be celebrated by locals today. Look out and you’ll spot excited waves from the river banks.
