Following breakfast, marvel as you are carried in style over the Vosges Mountains courtesy of the Arzviller Boat Lift, an architectural wonder, then continue to Lutzelbourg. After lunch, take a short drive to the village of Sarrebourg for a tour of the magical Chapelle des Cordeliers.

On the way back to the barge, stop for a private demonstration at a local glass artist’s workshop. Dinner is served on board.

This morning we cruise to the charming town of Saverne, ancestral home of the Counts of Rohan. Following lunch, alight to visit the 18th-century Rohan Castle.

Later, visit the nearby Château de Hohbarr, perched on top of the hillside. Return to the barge for pre-dinner drinks overlooking the castle.

Start the day with a scenic drive, visiting some of the most famous vineyards in Alsace. Enjoy select wine tastings around the pretty village of Marlenheim and visit Domaine Frédéric Mochel, a family estate dating from the 1600s.

Return to the barge for lunch and enjoy a leisurely afternoon on board as we cruise to the village of Dettwiller.

Alight for a short drive to the mountaintop village of La Petite Pierre. Savour a fabulous Michelin-starred lunch at Villa René Lalique, former home of the legendary glassmaker, taking time to admire the collection of his works.

Back on board, continue to the village of Hochfelden. Beer lovers will enjoy a tour and tasting at the Meteor Brewery, an independent, family-owned brewery established in 1640.

This morning we cruise to Strasbourg, the stunning capital of the Alsace region. Set off after lunch for a walking tour of the beautifully preserved city, taking in the cathedral, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the 19th-century Botanical Garden.

Take time to explore the winding streets and maze of canals before returning to the barge, where your chef has been busy preparing a sumptuous farewell dinner.

After breakfast, bid your crew farewell as you disembark for your onward travel arrangements.
