Pivoine: Marseillan to Avignon

Join us in the beautiful seaside port of Marseillan. Sip a glass of chilled champagne as you meet your captain and crew. Anticipate a sumptuous dinner on board this evening. After, take time for a stroll along the picturesque lanes of Marseillan.

Linger over a delectable breakfast as we sail across the saltwater Etang de Thau lagoon. You’ll have the chance to sample locally sourced oysters and mussels on the way. After lunch, step ashore for a walking tour of Sète, a bustling seaside market town. Tuck in to a delicious dinner as the cruise continues. We’ll arrive in time to enjoy a glass of the world-renowned local dessert wine, Muscat de Frontignan.

Today is all about life at a gentle pace. Enjoy a leisurely day of cruising through the exquisite landscape of the Camargue nature reserve. Catch a glimpse of flamingos, wild horses and black bulls among the salt marshes and sand dunes. The day ends with a spectacular gourmet dinner on the deck.

Savour breakfast and lunch accompanied with stunning views as we sail to Gallician. Step out with your guide for a walking tour of Arles, famous for beautiful Roman ruins and inspiring some of Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Then, head back on board where a sumptuous dinner awaits.

Today, we leave the canal behind to sail the Petite Saône and the grand River Rhône. Admire the ancient castles of Tarascon and Beaucaire that reach the water’s edge as we glide by. After lunch on board, join your guide to visit Saint-Rémy: the birthplace of famed astrologer Nostradamus. Take in the charming architecture and fragrant lavender in the surrounding fields. Later, indulge with a delectable dinner back on the barge.

Sail into Avignon in the late morning. Head ashore with your guide to explore the breathtaking Palais des Papes, a former papal residence. Lunch is served on board before you enjoy time at leisure—a perfect moment to alight and delve further into Avignon. Tonight’s dinner is a celebration and farewell dinner on board.
