Pivoine: Avignon to Marseillan

Enjoy a warm welcome aboard with a champagne reception. Meet your captain and crew and settle in for an early evening sail. En-route to our rural mooring in Aramon, you’ll pass the famous medieval bridge, Pont Saint-Bénézet. Tonight, prepare for the first in a series of exquisite dinners on board.

After breakfast on board, disembarkfor a short drive to Avignon. Visit the majestic Palais des Papes, a former papal residence. Then, enjoy time at leisure to explore, shop or linger over drinks at a pavement café. Lunch is served on board, followed by a scenic afternoon cruise passing the Tarascon and Beaucaire châteaux. We cross to the Petit Rhône river as dinner is served on board.

This morning, join your guide for a walking tour of Arles, famous for beautiful Roman ruins and inspiring some of Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Lunch is served on board as we glide towards Aigues-Mortes, a lively medieval town on the Canal du Rhône à Sète. Anticipate another evening of exceptional gastronomy created by your chef.

Breakfast is served with gorgeous views as we continue cruising this morning. Savour life at a gentle pace as we glide across the Camargue nature reserve. The breathtaking scenery includes salt marshes, sand dunes and maybe even flamingos or wild horses. After a leisurely day of sailing, tuck into a spectacular dinner on board.

Hop on land this morning for a walking tour of Sète, a bustling seaside market town. This is the perfect place for lunch ashore. Choose from one of the many alfresco restaurants serving the freshest seafood. Later, we journey on to Frontignan. Feast on a delicious dinner back on board — we arrive in time to enjoy a glass of the world-renowned local dessert wine, Muscat de Frontignan.

If weather permits, you’ll have the opportunity to sail the Étang de Thau lagoon today. This vast saltwater lake is famous for its glittering views and its oysters and mussels—sample some on board. Arrive in Marseillan late afternoon. The town is known for its fine vermouth, Noilly Prat. Head to the local museum to find out more. This evening, look forward to a celebratory farewell gala dinner on board.
