Brighton Belle 50th Anniversary hosted by Michael Portillo

Your Journey

The iconic Brighton Belle was the first electric Pullman service in the world. The height of 1930s glamour and innovation, the train escorted day trippers to the charming south coast. Celebrate 50 years since its final journey with broadcaster, journalist and renowned railway enthusiast, Michael Portillo.

Your adventure begins at London Victoria Station as you board the British Pullman’s sumptuous art deco carriages and are escorted by a liveried steward to your plush armchair. Relax with a sparkling Bellini and admire the authentic period details, from intricate marquetry and lavish textiles to silken lampshades. Soon, a delicious brunch is served, boasting a contemporary culinary nod to the original Brighton Belle menu.

On arrival in Brighton, you will visit the soaring British Airways i360 Viewing Tower for an exclusive event. Enjoy a reception with Nyetimber sparkling wine and an hour’s flight in the glass viewing pod, affording panoramic views of the vibrant city and coast. During this time you will gain an insight into the Brighton Belle’s star-studded history through an engaging talk from Michael Portillo, acclaimed presenter of the BBC’s ‘Great British Railway Journeys’.

After your high-flying experience you have a couple of hours to explore Brighton at your leisure before making your own way back to Brighton Station. Re-join British Pullman and be welcomed back on board with a glass of chilled champagne. An exquisite three-course dinner is served as you meander back to the capital through leafy West Sussex and Hampshire landscapes.

British Pullman operates within the constraints of the railway network. As such, timings, routes and associated itineraries are subject to change.
