Saving Bali’s Turtles
The hotel supports Bali’s Turtle Conservation Foundation. We help the foundation to rescue vulnerable turtle eggs from our beach, which are hatched and raised. Once the turtles have grown they are released back into the ocean from the spot where they were laid. We purchase turtle amenities from the foundation as gifts for selected guests.
Every Christmas we invite children from a local orphanage to come and enjoy a festive meal with us. Their choir sing and our guests are offered the opportunity to donate to their fund-raising programme.
Chili herb garden
Belmond Jimbaran Puri has its own herb garden, where four types of chilli are grown. These are used by our chefs to make traditional Balinese sambal.
Reduction of plastic usage
We are reducing the use of plastics throughout the hotel. We now use bins instead of plastic bags for garden waste, we have replaced plastic roofing on the gazebo with natural materials, and staff use cardboard cups instead of plastic ones for drinks.
Water purification programme
We treat and reuse waste water in our gardens, and purify water for drinking as part of the Starfish Bali water purification and recycling programme. This water is served in recycled containers as part of our plastic reduction initiative.
We take part in the Diversey "Soap for Hope" recycling programme. Used soaps are recycled and offered free to communities in need.
