Step onto the iconic carriages of the Eastern & Oriental Express in Bangkok. Settle into your cabin as the train departs. Soon after, Singapore based chef Janice Wong hosts a cooking atelier in the Observation Car. Later, it’s time to don your best outfit for dinner and head to the Restaurant Cars. Savour an exclusive menu created by Janice especially for your journey.

As the night rolls on, step into the Bar Car for a cocktail or liqueur. Our resident pianist is on hand with some lively classics to sing along to. Meanwhile, your cabin has been converted into a cosy retreat. Retire for a peaceful night’s rest before tomorrow’s adventures begin.



The morning sun breaks over Thailand’s stunning Kanchanaburi province. Before long, a knock at the door announces the arrival of breakfast. After, disembark at River Kwai Station for a choice of fascinating tours.

The Classic Tour includes a guided cruise under the iconic River Kwai Bridge and a visit to the Thai-Burma Railway Museum. Cycle through scenic rice paddies before pausing at a local farm for refreshments on the Tracks to Unseen Thailand Tour. Or, explore the wet market, a traditional rice noodle house and take a cooking class as you float along on a river raft with the Local Flavours Tour.

Return to the train to begin the journey into Malaysia. Soon, a delectable afternoon tea is served in your cabin— an absolute treat from Asia’s most innovative pastry chef. Join Janice for a chocolate painting atelier later in the afternoon, before another mouthwatering dinner is served tonight.


Kuala Kangsar

Breakfast this morning is one of Janice’s exquisite creations. Savour every bite over a leisurely morning as you admire the changing landscape from your window. Later, we arrive at Kuala Kangsar. A coach whisks you away to the village of Labu Kabong. Enjoy a warm welcome ceremony from the villagers, followed by a guided walk through rice paddies. Refreshments are served at the plantation including locally grown produce. Advanced trekkers can choose to join our expert naturalist on a hill-trek. Cold towels and refreshments await your arrival at the top, along with panoramic views.

Back on board the train, a delicious dinner is served as the lush rainforests and coastal towns of Peninsular Malaysia sweep by.



Rise for breakfast as the train takes a final course towards Singapore. Here, your gastronomic adventure ends as we arrive late in the morning.
