Wat a Wonder

Angkor Wat is likely to be the reason you’re here. And no wonder! This Khmer temple is one of the world’s greatest treasures, both in size and intricacy. You could and probably should spend a whole day exploring here. The main temple is the star of the show, of course. But make plenty of time for the smaller, equally awe-inspiring structures on site. One of the best things to do in Siem Reap is to wake before dawn and head to the main temple’s East Gate. From here marvel at a breathtaking sunrise over the five perfectly aligned towers.

The City’s Artistic Heart

Just a two minute walk from our hotel you’ll also find Kandal Village. This boho-chic community deserves a mention of its own. The city’s creatives gather here to form an artistic hub. Step into Sirivan Chak Dumas’ boutique for vibrant, light designer-wear. Pause at nearby Louise Loubatiere’s to pick-out pieces from her stunning collection of lacquer homewear, ceramics and textiles. Whether you’re in search of locally-made treasures or just enjoy excellent craftsmanship, you’ll find it all in Kandal Village.

The Show to Know

By now you’ll know that Siem Reap has a thriving creative scene. The world-famous Phare Cambodian Circus is one of the highlights. The show is staged by students and graduates of a local social enterprise school that provides an art education to Cambodia’s underprivileged youth. Discover a celebration of Cambodian tradition in a stunning fusion of theatre, dance, music, acrobatics and storytelling. Make a night of it with our Circus Dinner Experience and combine a dazzling show with exquisite gastronomy.

Beyond the Temples

Get up close with the diverse ecosystem and see the fishermen bring in their daily catch. As you’re bobbing along on the gentle waves, we’ll serve cocktails and canapés in time for a breathtaking sunset. If you have more time to spend at Tonle Sap, take our Water and Silk tour for an in-depth experience of rural life.

Off the Beaten Track

If ancient treasures are your thing, don’t miss Kulen Mountain or Beng Melea. These sites are further out of town, but well worth a visit. Kulen is reputed to be the most sacred mountain in Cambodia and is home to more than 30 captivating temple ruins. After a morning exploring, cool off with a dip in the waterfall nearby. Beng Melea is an adventurer's paradise. This enchanting temple is enclosed in winding vines and overgrown trees, giving you the sense that something mysterious awaits discovery.
