Imagined by the pioneering French artist and photographer JR, L’Observatoire is your own private residence on the rails: a secluded world of extraordinary space, craftsmanship and personalised service.

Grand Suites

Our six Grand Suites represent the pinnacle of luxury in motion. Designed as a refined, residential sanctuary, each suite showcases the finest in French & Italian craftsmanship, evoking the golden age of grand touring. Meanwhile, marbled en-suite bathrooms mean you can refresh in style with curated vanity sets and bespoke luxury bathrobes.

Suites

With double or twin bed configurations, each Suite immerses guests in diverse European scenery through glorious colours, patterns and textures. Plush fabrics and furnishings channel famed Art Deco designers, such as Dufrene and Lalique.

Each has a private marble en-suite bathroom and mosaic floor, and a lounge area by day as your bed converts to seating area. There are 4 Suites per carriage.

Arranged for day, with deep blue carpets and upholstered folding bed, Le Lac Suite reflects the drama and romance of water.
A La Campagne Suite with exquisite walnut wood marquetry with Art Deco floral inlays is set up for sleep with twin beds.
Beyond a polished bathroom door, a walnut unit with a marble top supports a green handblown glass sink in a design detail.

Historic Cabins

Travel as you would in the 1920s and take in Europe from the romantic setting it deserves with your own private historic twin cabin. Banquette seating offers the perfect vantage point to watch the landscape by day, while convertible sleeping berths transform the cabin into an intimate retreat by night.

Each cabin features a washbasin cabinet and specially curated amenities for your journey. Shared restrooms are located at the end of each sleeper carriage; there are 8 Historic Cabins per carriage.
