Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is by 11am. Early check-ins & late check outs are available on a complimentary basis, subject to availability.

When booking a safari at Savute Elephant Lodge, your rate includes luxury accommodation, meals and all drinks including selected branded spirits and wines. Your rate also includes daily laundry, at least two game viewing activities per day, emergency medical evacuation insurance, park fees and VAT in Botswana.

The operating currency at Savute Elephant Lodge is the Botswana Pula (BWP), which is also the official currency of Botswana. However, guests will find that gratuities and payments can be made in multiple currencies, including USD, BWP, and South African Rand (ZAR), as well as by credit card or prepayment.

Tipping is entirely at your discretion, though it is customary to reward excellent service. As a guideline, guests typically tip around USD 20 per person per night for both their ranger/guide and lodge staff. Smaller amounts are common for services such as transfers (USD 3–5), porterage (USD 2 per movement), and airport assistance (USD 2 per movement). While not compulsory, gratuities are always appreciated when service exceeds expectations.

Smart casual wear is the order of the day, and we would recommend comfortable and practicable walking shoes. For morning and afternoon excursions we recommend light windproof jackets, as the winter months from May to August can be somewhat cool. For evening dinners, jacket and ties are not required, and depending on the season a light pullover or cardigan is customary.

Yes, provided dietary requirements are notified at the time of booking. We do however regret that we are unable to provide meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.

Our lodges are not wheelchair-friendly due to steps in main areas and elevated rooms (7–9 steps), as well as limited space and step-access showers. However, we can accommodate guests with mild walking difficulties if they travel with an able-bodied companion. Guests must bring their own mobility aids, as these are not provided. With at least 30 days’ notice, we can arrange ramps and staff assistance in public areas (with permission). For comfort during activities, a private vehicle is recommended. Please inform us of any mobility needs at the time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements, including room allocation near main areas.
