The original inhabitants of the Chobe National Park were the hunter-gatherer San Bushmen, who created paintings in the ancient rocks of the hills near our lodge over 2000 years ago.

After becoming Botswana’s first national park in the 1960s, the channel soon dried up completely. Quite suddenly, and with no one knowing why, the Savute channel started flowing again in 2008 and goes from dry to wet unpredictably – unpredictable being the translation for the Setswana word, Savute.

The Savute channel may come and go, but with a permanent watering hole directly in front of our lodge, animal lovers are able to see wildlife at all times.

From corporate events to milestone birthdays, our luxury lodge offers stunning venues for any occasion.
