Our South America train trip offers a visit to the Sumbay caves, located in the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where more than 500 ancient cave paintings tell the story of hunter-gatherer societies and their transition to domestication. A powerful testimony to the enduring spirit of human creativity, some paintings are thought to be up to 6,000 years old and depict human figures, camelids, pumas, foxes and more.
