Le Formichelle Path

Il Sentiero delle Formichelle (the Formichelle Path) is an ancient pedestrian route that connects the villages of Tramonti, Maiori and Minori and runs through an area rich in lemon trees. The term formichelle historically designated lemon bearers (mainly women) who used to carry freshly picked lemons on their heads with a basket.

Today, the Formichelle Path experience is a tribute to those women and their labour; join us on a unique guided excursion to learn more about the lemon growers, harvesters and bearers who are part of our rich heritage.
