Variously famous as the site of the last battle of the Civil War in 1651, and the home of spicy Worcestershire sauce, Worcester is a city steeped in history. Set on the banks of the River Severn, it abounds in beautiful gabled and half-timbered buildings. Renowned for its magnificent cathedral, it is also the original home of Royal Worcester, one of the oldest porcelain brands in the country.
