Your Journey

Board the beautiful art deco carriages of the Belmond British Pullman train for a delightful day out to Chatsworth House. The home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and surrounded by rolling green landscape, it is one of Britain’s finest country houses.

A fine-dining experience awaits in the sumptuous vintage carriages, each one individually crafted with intricate marquetry panels and authentic period features. Your table is set with white linen, specially commissioned china and sparkling cut glassware. A delicious three-course brunch is served by liveried stewards, who are on hand to take care of all your needs. Sit back, relax and marvel at the ever-changing views through your picture window. Arriving in Derbyshire around midday, you will be escorted by coach to Chatsworth. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore at leisure. Wander round the beautiful gardens designed by ‘Capability’ Brown, stop for refreshments at the café and peruse the extensive gift shop. The fun continues as you re-board the train for your journey home. You are welcomed with a champagne reception, after which a gastronomic five-course dinner is served with our sommelier’s selection of wine. Few things are as quintessentially British as a day trip by rail—travel aboard the Belmond British Pullman and make the journey as magical as the destination.

About

Chatsworth House

Chatsworth is a magnificent stately home set against wooded hills in the Derbyshire Dales.

It is owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, a couple renowned for their passion for art and innovation. Inside, priceless Old Masters vie for attention alongside outstanding modern commissions.

The celebrated grounds include a Victorian rock garden, impressive fountains and a maze. The kitchen garden nurtures the intriguing ‘mummy peas’, allegedly grown from legumes discovered in Tutankhamun’s tomb.
