Begin your journey at Fullerton Hotel where we we'll be waiting to check you in. An optional market tour is available prior to check-in. Renowned Chef Luke Mangan and Head Chef Yannis Martineau will lead you into the local markets for an inspirational culinary tour before you step aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express.

Settle in to your private cabin as the train departs Singapore to cross the famed Johor Causeway. We’ll serve afternoon tea straight to your cabin as you admire the passing landscapes.

As nightfall arrives dinner is served in our grand dining cars followed by an inviting nightcap in the Bar Car.


Kuala Kangsar

After a leisurely breakfast, you arrive at Kuala Kangsar with a choice of tours. Immerse yourself in rural Malaysian life with a warm welcome ceremony from the villagers, followed by a guided rice paddy tour and refreshments. Or, visit a plantation and sample the produce before embarking on a trek to the top of the hill – cold towels, refreshments and panoramic views will await you there.

Your next adventure takes you back into the city to tour the grand Ubudiah Mosque, the Royal Museum of Perak and the Sultan Shah Gallery.

Return to the train for a sumptuous lunch and enjoy a leisurely afternoon as we cross into Thailand.

Chef Luke hosts a spice sermon on-board, offering gastronomic guidance for recreating local flavours. This talk is followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner created by Luke exclusively for your journey.



This morning presents a choice of tours as you alight at Kanchanaburi. The Classic includes guided visits to the River Kwai Bridge and Thai-Burma Railway Museum. Tracks to Unseen Thailand tour will have you biking through rice paddies, stopping off at a local farm. The Local Flavours tour explores the wet market, the region’s last noodle house and combines a raft cruise with a cooking class.

Return to the train for an indulgent lunch before we arrive in Bangkok for your journey’s end.
