The Renovation

Welcome to a new chapter of Maroma, the most beautiful luxury resort in the Riviera Maya. Our renovation reveals new waterfront suites, a nature-focused wellness experience in partnership with Guerlain, ground-breaking sustainability initiatives, and a new gastronomic era.

Restored under the leadership of renowned designer Tara Bernerd, admire the masterful work of local artisans who have honored authentic Mexican heritage with the creation of furniture, lighting, pottery, textiles and beyond.

THE POOL

See and be seen at the main pool, enveloped by palm trees and draped in calming hues of linen and pale green.

The perfect spot for a cooling dip or a poolside mezcal, Maroma’s pool has been completely redesigned, featuring Sukabumi tiles hand-made from volcanic stone in the same vibrant turquoise tones as the region’s many natural cenotes.

By swaying palm trees, we have three outdoor pools at Maroma. For extra serenity, relax in the adults-only pool located by the spa.

At the Maroma Spa by Guerlain, we bring together the expertise and heritage of Guerlain and the healing rituals of the ancient Maya, with treatments inspired by the four elements of nature.

Maroma is a true holistic wellness retreat: a place where the world’s vital energies are artfully brought together to find their balance. Embrace wellness rituals and spa therapies with a curated fitness program, meditation, water-focused treatments, and in workshops using natural ingredients from our apothecary.

A Rooted Future

Maroma is a secluded hideaway created by nature, intertwined with the vitality of the jungle and the sea. Caring for the environment is a priority woven into every aspect of our being, from significantly reducing our carbon footprint and protecting local wildlife to sourcing sustainable ingredients for our dishes.

On-Site Nursery

Maroma is home to an on-site nursery that produces over two thousand endemic plants, some of which are in danger of extinction. Our team rescues seedlings of regional flora — such as palma chit, palma real, ceiba and ciricote — from the resort’s surrounding jungle, to increase their rate of reproduction and survival.

EarthCheck Certification

Maroma is a proud member of the EarthCheck program, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking certification and advisory group for travel and tourism. The achievement of Silver certification acknowledges that our renovation meets best practice performance benchmarks and delivers positive outcomes in several Key Performance Areas, from energy efficiency and increasing endemic biodiversity to the management of water resources and use of sustainable materials in the design and construction.

Sea Turtle Sanctuary

With our sea turtle conservation program, you can explore how we help protect four species of turtle, including White, Loggerhead, Hawkbill and Leatherback sea turtles. Through this program, you can visit Maroma’s Turtle Sanctuary and – when the eggs hatch – assist in releasing the baby turtles into the ocean.

Starlight Certification

Maroma has received a renown Starlight Certification. The only certification of its kind and endorsed by the UN, UNESCO and UNWTO, Starlight is a non-profit organization recognizing hotels that reduce evening lighting to protect the night sky, meaning guests at Maroma experience the true magic of the stars.

Conservation of Endemic Bird Species

Maroma is in an important nesting and breeding area for Olive Throated Parakeets and White-Fronted Parrots, both of which are endangered species. To help conserve these endemic bird species in danger of extinction, Maroma has created a comprehensive conservation program, identifying and protecting these beautiful creatures.

Maroma’s in-house fashion boutique is a treasure trove dedicated to the finest Mexican luxury labels. From sunglasses to jewelry, beachwear and sandals, discover chic and authentic fashion houses such as Sandra Weil, Collectiva Concepción and Oriana Rodriguez.

Daytime fun, wellness activities and explorations of culture and nature are some of the many activities we have for the little ones. Ami, our Kid's Club Manager, will make sure that our youngest guests make the most of their time at Maroma.

At Maroma, we consider your pet a member of the family. They can enjoy luxury on the Riviera Maya for US$200 per pet, per stay.

From a specialized menu to our dog sitter service, we'll ensure their vacation is just as enjoyable as yours.
