The Ava Gardner Suite is named in honour of the smouldering Hollywood siren, who visited the building now housing Splendido Mare when she was filming the iconic 1954 movie The Barefoot Contessa. Affording the kind of absolute privacy of which Ava would have approved, the suite is a space to feel and breathe Portofino’s authentic roots.
The décor embraces nautical and artisanal heritage, with Murano glass lamps, understated Loro Piana and Rubelli fabrics and vintage furniture by Gio Ponti and Paolo Buffa.
