Getting to Belmond Sanctuary Lodge
Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is in a unique location at the summit of a mountain. The only way to and from the hotel is to take the bus service run by a private company (Consettur).
Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes train station in Machu Picchu, please approach the Consettur booth to purchase your round trip bus ticket.
The cost is US$20.00 (subject to change) per person, which must be paid in cash or local currency.
- Aguas Calientes to Belmond Sanctuary Lodge: From 5:30am to 3:30pm
- Belmond Sanctuary Lodge to Aguas Calientes: From 6am to 5:30pm
Buses depart every 20 minutes. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
For after-hours private transfer services please contact Consettur directly on +51 84 211134 / +51 84 222125, Monday through Saturday from 8am to 12:45pm and from 3pm to 6pm and Sundays or holidays from 8am to 12:45pm.
Kindly note that the cost for an after-hours private service (bus-charter) is US$350 (subject to change) for a one-way journey.
Luggage assistance service at Machu Picchu train station
Belmond Sanctuary Lodge offers luggage assistance service at Aguas Calientes train station in Machu Picchu. Please provide the detail of your train journey to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you arrive to Aguas Calientes station, please look for the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge notice board. Our representative will explain to how to get to the bus stop and assist you with your luggage.
Entry tickets to the citadel of Machu Picchu and other attractions
The citadel of Machu Picchu is open daily from 6am to 4pm. Tickets are personal, non-transferable and valid for one calendar day only. Once purchased, dates cannot be changed.
We strongly advise you purchase your entry tickets to the citadel and other attractions in advance, as they offer a limited number per day. To buy your tickets, please visit the Ministry of Culture website: www.machupicchu.gob.pe.

The hotel will not be held responsible for Machu Picchu tickets or after-hours bus services not coordinated in advance, or the acts or omissions of third people or parties.

In restaurants, a tip is included in the price. Additional tipping is not necessary unless you feel it is warranted. Likewise, taxi drivers do not expect to be tipped.
BANKS AND MONEY CHANGERS
There is one Bank in Aguas Calientes (Banco de Credito) and one ATM machine. You are also welcome to exchange US$ Travellers Cheques and US$ to Peruvian Nuevos Soles at the front desk.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners.
ELECTRICITY AND ADAPTERS
The voltage in room electrical outlets is 220 V and 110 V in bathrooms.
We offer a luggage storage service. After your check-out, bags can be stored until your return to Aguas Calientes and can also be delivered directly to the train station upon request.
An electronic safety box can be found in your room, which is free of charge to use. We recommend that you use this facility to keep all valuables. The hotel cannot be held responsible for the loss of items not stored in the safety box in your room.
SHOE CLEANING AND LAUNDRY
The Lodge offers a complimentary shoe cleaning service and can provide a laundry service if required.
Tap water is safe to drink. However, complimentary bottled water is delivered to your room each evening at turn-down.
The water used in the kitchen, bar and restaurant is treated water and is 100% drinkable. All our vegetables and fruits are washed with purified water. Ice is also made of 100% purified water.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
We recommend that you notify the authorities of the INC (Instituto Nacional de Cultura) at the entrance of the ruins if you are planning to make any hikes. Please do not go out alone, the chance of getting lost is very high.
FOR YOUR COMFORT
Carry enough drinking water, wear comfortable shoes and take insect repellent and sun block with you. Keep at least one set of dry clothes at the Lodge.
