Welcome to the Belmond Police Department

Helping Belmond to be a safer place is the focus of the Belmond Police Department. Belmond has five full time officers, the Chief of Police, Sergeant and three patrol officers. Also available is the Reserve Police Unit currently consisting of two Reserve Officers. Police coverage is 24/7.

The department besides the usual street patrol and investigations also works with the events held in the town over the course of a year. The annual 4th of July Celebration is one example. Others are fun runs, kids parades, Parade of Lights, Thanks with Franks and the Dog Days Triathlon event just to name some of the events.

The department is also active in school events providing security for Prom, Graduation, and sporting events. The department officers are requested by school officials to put on presentations for the staff and for the students as well.

Groups such as churches, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Belmond Public Library, Luick Memorial Pool and others will ask that an officer share with them what is current in the community with law enforcement, bike safety, child seat safety, crime prevention etc...

At the Police Department we take pride in providing citizens with honest and fair enforcement of the laws. We answer calls in a timely and professional manner.

We always welcome input from the community. The department keeps an open door policy for any person to come in to discuss concerns about the town.
