The Mangrove Swamp

The mangrove forest - trees and shrubs which thrive in salt-rich soil in saline coastal waters – plays a fundamental role in the equilibrium of our ecosystem.

It protects the reef by filtering the runoff from the jungle, it acts as a nursery for many marine species, it helps regulate the moisture level in the jungle, and it provides food and shelter for many insects, birds, plants and of course crocodiles.
