 Event Farmers Market   Best of British at Le Manoir

24 April 2013 – The heavyweights of British food recently gathered for an extraordinary Farmers’ Market at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. Raymond Blanc OBE invited producers to display succulent meats, fresh fish, cheese and poultry for sampling by 45 Relais & Châteaux chefs.

Raymond Blanc, executive head chef Gary Jones and chef patissier Benoit Blin served a mouthwatering array of canapés and desserts. Many of the food specialists on show supply Le Manoir’s own kitchen. These included Daylesford Organic, Rhug Estate lamb, Neal’s Yard Dairy and Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling. Glasses were kept topped up with sparkling wine from Cornwall’s Camel Valley.

In line with the best of British theme, guests were escorted to Le Manoir on Routemaster double decker buses. Morris dancers, singers and a bagpiper provided the entertainment.

10 September 2012 - Fans of BBC2’s Kitchen Secrets and The Very Hungry Frenchman will be excited to learn of a new course at The Raymond Blanc Cookery School

Two of the series’ stars, Blanc’s development chefs Adam Johnson and Ankush Bhasin, will teach you techniques, skills and recipes seen in the television programmes. Join us and master popular dishes like Chicken Morels, Kirsch Baba and all-time favourite Comté Cheese Soufflé. 

Raymond says, “Adam and Kush are talented young men who have become masters in their own right. They are eagerly waiting to teach everyone the tricks of the trade. What are you waiting for? On y va!”

 Events Raymond   Fine Line-up for Le Festival

17 August 2012 - Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons is staging its 21st “Le Festival”, a gastronomic and musical extravaganza, from 4-6 October. 

Mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins, tenor Russell Watson and musical theatre star Elaine Paige will each perform separate concerts in the intimate, 13th-century church of St Mary’s. 

Following a champagne reception, you'll enjoy a torch-lit walk to the church for an evening of sublime music. Afterwards, the star of the night joins you back at the hotel for a five-course feast orchestrated by Raymond Blanc and his team.

11 July 2012 - Raymond Blanc, long-time champion of food ethics, has been appointed President of the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA). 

In his new role, the master chef is appealing to the public to help shape of the future of UK restaurants. As he says: “Hundreds of chefs in all types of restaurants, from the Michelin-starred ones to fish and chip shops are working with the SRA to improve the whole way they manage their business. But unless the public start to demand that restaurants behave responsibly, then we will miss this opportunity to make this mainstream and lose the chance to leave a significant legacy for chefs and diners." 

Launched in 2010, the SRA works with more than 1,000 restaurants of all kinds across the UK. It is a national, not-for-profit membership organisation providing more than 1,000 restaurants with expert sustainability advice.

26 January 2012 - Raymond Blanc will be cooking in France's gourmet hotspots on UK television screens throughout February and into March. 

In Raymond Blanc, The Very Hungry Frenchman, Britain's favourite French chef explores distinctive produce and cuisine, from Burgundy to his home region of Franche Comte, where his 90 year old mother still lives. He also visits the gastronomic city of Lyon and sun soaked Provence. In each episode he sources the freshest ingredients from local experts, explains recipes and cooks at a local restaurant. Don't miss it!

BBC2 at 8pm, weekly, from Thursday, 2 February 2012 until 1 March.
 House   Le Manoir Comes Second on The Sunday Times Food List 2011

26 October 2011 - Eight thousand restaurant goers across the UK have voted Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons the country's number two destination for great dining.

Based on food quality alone, The Sunday Times Food List selects Britain's top 100 restaurants. This year's first five are: The Ledbury, Notting Hill, London; Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Great Milton, Oxfordshire; Gidleigh Park, Chagford, Devon; Le Gavroche, Mayfair, London and Waterside Inn, Bray, Berkshire.

The full list will be published on 30 October: half of the top 100 restaurants are outside London (up from 40% last year); while Asian restaurants have fallen by half; and there are 31 new entries. 
 Raymond   Raymond Blanc and the Great British Food Revival

17 October 2011 - The Great British Food Revival series returns to BBC TWO from Wednesday, 26th October at 8:00pm. Join some of England’s best known chefs and cooks as they champion the qualities of Britain’s traditional produce. 

Raymond Blanc’s episode, airing Wednesday, 9th November at 7:00pm, will focus on the plum. He will visit growers in the Vale of Evesham and will create dishes that demonstrate a wide variety of uses for plums. 

From pork stuffed with dried plums and his own version of a British classic – plum chutney – to delicious plum dessert with a typical French twist, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
