BIDCO Industrial Development of Belmond has been instrumental in locating
eight employers to Belmond. BIDCO’s largest employer location was the Eaton
Corporation who chose to construct a new large engine valve plant here that
now employs over 600 people in a facility of more the 250,000 sq. ft.
BIDCO has several available development sites. BIDCO’s most recent commitment
to Belmond’s future was the establishment of its Capital Assistance Program
(CAP). This fund is capitalized to assist new start-up companies and other
established companies in their location to Belmond.
In addition to CAP, new or expanding companies can avail themselves
of the Wright County Revolving Loan Fund and the regional MIDAS Revolving
Loan Fund as well as the State of Iowa, Iowa Department of Economic Development, Iowa Workforce Development, Small Business Development, Alliant Energy, and Prairie Energy plus various state incentive program to assist in alleviating the burden of an expansion or re-location.
