The Mayor and City Council consistently strive to provide a stable economy in a friendly atmosphere with reasonable utilities, sold infrastructure and high quality service.

The Belmond Police Department provides 24-hour coverage between the Chief and four officers. The Belmond Fire Department is staffed with 32 volunteer firefighters.

The City’s water system is licensed as a class 3 facility which ensures a fully treated safe and clean water system for the residents at one of the most reasonable rates in the area.

The City’s Public Library holds 16,800 books with 94 magazine and newspaper subscriptions and 920 audio/films/software collections.

Also the City supports an airport. It is located in the northeast corner of the city on 30 acres. A helicopter pad accompanies the turf runway of 3,245 feet.
