The Carnivores' Project

The Iguassu National Park is working with support from Hotel das Cataratas to maintain and conserve wild animals such as jaguars, cougars, tapirs and giant anteaters..

The Carnivores’ Project uses 72 cameras and other hi tech equipment to monitor the populations of animals under threat in the park.

Travelling by foot, car, boat and helicopter, and spending countless nights camping in the forest, the team has built up a picture of these increasingly rare creatures’ lifestyles, and is now taking steps to help increase their numbers.
