Roberto Toro, Chef de Cuisine

Roberto Toro delights our guests with his traditional Sicilian recipes, in which he blends his flair for innovation with the delicious ingredients cultivated in Mount Etna’s rich soil. Born and raised in Sicily, Roberto grew up with his mother’s authentic recipes and it was while he watched her busying over her saucepan that he developed an early passion for food.

Later he went travelling in search of new ideas and inspiration and spent a number of years in Denmark, where he worked in some of the most acclaimed restaurants in Copenhagen. He returned to his Sicilian roots in 2006, joining the kitchens of Grand Hotel Timeo, and since October 2012 has been proud to lead the team as Chef de Cuisine. 

Roberto adores the Sicilian kitchen for the richness and variety of its time-honoured dishes, which he faithfully recreates in his menus. He derives immense pleasure from bringing his homeland’s culinary traditions a little closer to his customers.
