Gonzalo Martinez is the Executive Chef of Casa de Sierra Nevada. At the age of 33, Gonzalo has been around the block - the culinary butcher block, that is - learning his trade from some of the world's most renowned chefs.
After fourteen years of apprenticing in first-class kitchens, from the famed Cafe Brazil and five-star French Room in Dallas, to The Windsor Court in New Orleans.
Martínez returned in June to his beloved San Miguel home as Executive Chef of Casa Sierra Nevada kitchens.
A native of San Miguel, he has been working in fine restaurant kitchens since the age of 19. Gonzalo has a penchant for local Mexican food and is known for his innovative menus and picture-perfect plates. He brings both art and passion to our kitchen.
Guests and locals can sample some of his creations at the hotels' restaurants as well as enjoy taking classes with Gonzalo at Sazon.
